The terms for using the GarageID app for iOS and Android: your licence, your documents, AI results, backups and the limits of our responsibility.

GarageID is made by Dariy Dzyndra (Dariyd.Soft) ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use GarageID, free of charge, on devices you own or control.

If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its support.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app to break the law, or to store content you have no right to keep
  • Copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it
  • Misuse or overload the services the app relies on, such as the AI, or try to get around their limits
  • Use the AI features to create unlawful or harmful content; Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy also applies

Your documents

Your documents and records stay yours; you give us no rights to them. To provide the features, the app sends them to the services described in the Privacy Policy — for example to Google Gemini to read a document. Only add documents you are allowed to have processed this way.

Privacy and your data

We have no servers and do not store your documents, photos, car records or drives: they are kept only on your phone. To read a document, the app sends it to Google Gemini, which analyses it and sends the result back to your phone. To fix crashes and improve the app, it sends crash reports to Sentry and usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase; these never include your documents. The Privacy Policy explains all of this in detail.

AI results

GarageID uses AI (Google Gemini) to read documents and to suggest titles, folders, cars, amounts, dates, service intervals and insights. AI can be wrong: it can misread a number, pick the wrong category or car, or miss something. Check anything that matters — amounts, dates, mileage, VINs, insurance and warranty terms, due dates — against the original document before you rely on it.

Reminders, service suggestions, costs and fuel consumption figures are guidance only, not professional, legal, financial or safety advice. Follow your car's manufacturer, your mechanic and your insurer.

Drives

Drives are measured by your phone's location and motion sensors. A drive can be missed, start late or end early, and its distance, times, speeds and stops can be off; the mileage worked out from them is an estimate. Check them before you rely on them, for example for a tax or business mileage log. Never use your phone while driving: GarageID asks its questions only after a drive ends, and the law and the road come first. Recording drives uses some battery.

Services from other companies

The app relies on services from other companies — Google (Gemini AI, Google Analytics for Firebase and other Firebase services, Maps on Android), Apple (iCloud, Maps), Sentry (crash reports), NHTSA, the European Central Bank and the National Bank of Ukraine. Their availability is outside our control and their own terms apply. Exchange rates and VIN data are provided as they are.

Your data and backups

Your data lives on your phone, so keeping it safe is up to you: turn on iCloud backup or export a backup file regularly, and keep enough iCloud storage. We cannot recover data that was lost with a phone, deleted, or never backed up.

Changes to the app

We may change, add or remove features, or stop offering the app. Some features need an internet connection and may not always be available.

No warranty

As far as the law allows, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it is free of errors, always available, or that its results are accurate.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or decisions made on the basis of the app's results — for example a missed renewal, a fine, or a wrong amount. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer that cannot be limited by law, or our liability for intent or gross negligence.

Ending use

You can stop using GarageID at any time by deleting it. We may end your licence if you break these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date on this page shows the latest version, and important changes are mentioned in the app's release notes. Using the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
